MR. SHAH NIZAM BIN IDRIS
CHAIRMAN OF THE WELFARE AND SOCIAL ORGANIZATION
SENTUL PASAR, KUALA LUMPUR
Since I was appointed as the Chairman of PEKESEP, I have made it my mission to help the people of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur (WPKL) who are facing difficulties, so that the relevant authorities can hear their voices.
The organisation has been in existence for 15 years. It has matured in many aspects in managing programs, activities, and addressing issues faced by the residents of WPKL — in the past, present, and future.
Our organisation places great emphasis on the welfare of WPKL residents and unity among the various ethnic groups in WPKL. Therefore, many programs and activities have been and will be planned to realise our mission.
Based on the 2015 demographic survey in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, 24% of the population consists of senior citizens, 18% are single mothers, and 4% are persons with disabilities. Therefore, the organisation seeks to assist them by providing financial aid and groceries, sponsored by corporate companies, government agencies, and statutory bodies, to ease their burdens.
With the realisation of our dreams and mission to lessen the burden of WPKL society and to strengthen interracial unity, the organisation hopes we can all work together and help one another to ensure the well-being and comfort of the community.
We also place hope on the cooperation of DBKL, statutory bodies, Members of Parliament, corporate companies, and NGOs to help achieve the organisation’s mission.
SHAH NIZAM BIN IDRIS
CHAIRMAN OF PEKESEP
